Google to Launch New Music Store

The cloud wars escalate as Google creates iTunes-like music service.

Sony, Universal and EMI have signed deals with Google to sell MP3 files online, according to the Wall Street Journal. The search giant will make an annonuncement on Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles with performances by watered-down mainstreamers, Maroon 5 and Drake.  Similar to iTunes, songs will be sold for $1, although users will also be able to preview purchases with friend on Google +.
