Mobile payment company Square, begun by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, is showing impressive numbers in the growing market for mobile based credit card handling. The company recently announced that it's processing an average of $4 million a day in financial transactions, proving itself as one of the first viable options in an industry that could fundamentally reshape the concept of the cash register. Early competitors include PayPal, as well as Apple, who is rumored to be adding a mobile payment system on the next iPhone.
